Mission Statement

We seek to: establish a place where people seeking a deeper relationship with God can explore the claims of Jesus Christ and the orthodox Christian faith, provide a place where people can be encouraged to become disciples of Jesus, maintain a place for the worship of Almighty God, and to provide an environment of non-judgmental Christian fellowship.

Our four-fold mission is to: REACH lost people with a more relaxed and contemporary style of evangelism and worship, WIN them to a saving relationship with Jesus Christ by the power of the Holy Spirit, TRAIN them to be disciples, and, SEND them on to fulfill their God-given mission and ministry.

History

Mission Statement

Powdersville Community Church began with the strong belief that lost people really matter to God. Lost people are not always a demographic desired by the church at large—they have too many problems, hang ups, and/or addictions. We believe that their worth in God’s eyes is immeasurable. Our goal is to reach ALL people, regardless of age, race, gender, or socioeconomic background.

We soon outgrew the living room of our former Pastor, Dr. C. Scott Ghan, and in January of 1999, offering a style of worship that was casual and contemporary, we moved to Powdersville Middle School. Afterwards we moved to a storefront location on Hwy. 123. Our church continued to grow, until God provided us with a home at the intersection of I-85 and Hwy. 153. In 2015 our former Pastor, Dr. C. Scott Ghan, was called to Mexico where he started a church. At that time Pastor Ralph Jones took over. Ralph was a Sunday School Teacher before he became the Pastor in 2015, and remained our Pastor until his passing in 2018. In 2017 we moved to 300 South Piedmont Highway, Piedmont SC, 29673. This is our own building and new home for the future. Under the new leadership of Pastor Gene Hutchins (2018), we will continue to exalt the person of Jesus Christ and reach lost people.
